Overview Panafest is an event dedicated to the African dance, music and other performing arts. Also known as the ‘Pan-African Historical Theatre Festival’, Panfest is a cultural event that aims and endeavors towards the enhancement of the ideals of Pan-Africanism and the development of the African continent. It is a biennial festival and is observed every two years to celebrate the people of African descent as well as all persons committed to the well being of Africans on continent and in the global arena.

Day 1: ACCRA | GHANA – JULY 25, 2019 Arrive Accra; meet assist and transfer to Hotel. Day 2: ACCRA | ACCRACITY TOUR | PAN-AFRICANIST DUBOIS CENTRE | OSAGYE DR. KWAME NKRUMAH MAUSOLEUM – JULY 25, 2019 Full day Tour of Accra, visit the W.E.B. Du Bois Center honoring the life of one of the most prominent Pan-Africanists who chose to live and work in Ghana. Independence Square, Accra’s open-air ceremonial grounds where all national celebrations are held.

Day 3: TAMALE | TAMALE CITY TOUR – JULY 26,2019 A Domestic flight to Tamale. The Northern part of Ghana has so many significant housing architecture and the different diversity of culture and ethnics. Tamale City tour will be a great time to eplore and also their Savanna markets with wide range of cultural heritages stuffs.

Day 4: TAMALE | RECIEVE ATONEMENT AT SALAGA | SALAGA SLAVE MARKET – JULY 27,2019 Depart to Salaga Township. Meet with the traditional leader and tour the site where the slave trade started in the former Gold Coast. In Salaga, you will find families whose ancestors were slave raiders, slave chains and shackles are still kept in some of the family homes. The atonement will be sealed by villagers washing the feet of participants as an act of humility and a plea for forgiveness.

Day 5: TAMALE – KINTAMPO SALVE MARKET | KUMASI – JLY 28,2019 Enjoy breakfast in your hotel. Depart for the drive to Kumasi. En route, stop at the former slave markets of Kintampo and Assin Bono. Enjoy this scenic but haunting drive through the land where the slave trade took place.

Day 6 : KUMASI | ASHANTI KINGDOM TOUR | JUBILEE MESUEM – JULY 29,2019 Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards, depart for a drive to Kumasi, the seat of the Ashanti Empire. Explore the legend of the famous Ashantis at the Manhyia Palace Museum. There you will get a sense of a day in the life of an Ashanti ruler (Asantehene).

Day 7: KUMASI | ASHANTI CRAFT VILLAGES | NTONSO ADINKRA | BONWIRE KENTE VILLAGE – JULY -30, 2019 A visit to the Ashanti craft villages. Learn about woodcarving in the village of Ahwiaa, known for the talented craftsmen who fashion royal stools, walking sticks and fertility dolls from wood.

Day 8: ELIMINA | MEMORIAL AT ELMINA CASTLE | REVERENTIAL NIGHT – JULY 31,2019 After breakfast, prepare for a visit to the Elmina Castle. Another infamous castle and slave dungeon, Elmina was built by the Portuguese in 1482 as St. George’s Castle.

Day 9: CAPE COAST | THE CAPE COAST CASTLE | EMANCIPATION DURBAR | ASSIN MANSO – AUGUST 1,2019 The Cape Coast Castle was warehouses built by the Europeans to house slaves and was the final transit point for enslaved Africans before being shipped off to the Americas and the Carribeans.

Day 10: ACCRA | DEPARTURE Drive to the airport for departure.
